So beautiful JP. I’m torn between whether I love your bedroom or the Drawing Room more! (Though I have a huge weakness for the blue ceiling in your garden canopy!). You’ve created cohesion too across the house, which isn’t easy in a grande dame like yours!
That’s very kind. Cohesion was one of the most important things when I was designing our home Wendy. When we bought it, it had no flow and felt very disconnected with the outside. Often, using a simple colour palette can solve these problems.
I love the warm blues you have used! I’m going with railings for our smallest room. I have a large ornate mirror which has been in my Victorian dining room then the hallway of my 16th century cottage and now the smallest room in our ickle eco new build!
This is a fabulous read, JP. I love hearing your thought process and your influences. It's a skill to take that and make it your own, so that your home feels unique and personal whilst having a universal appeal. I adore that colour palette, but I feel it's the textures you've added, like the panelling and the choice of lighting that make the hues come alive. Thank you and happy Sunday.🩵
Thank you Franny, but yes, actually you are right. The colour alone would be flat. It’s the panelling and details and warm textures and tones that bring it to life. X
I think she’s right ! To refresh the soul when you walk in ..I still swoon over your bedroom blue JP that to me is the perfect chalky but bright shade . It’s glorious X I lived for many years with a Valspar collection in both down stairs rooms - Dancing water which really was that Gulf of Mexico brought back tone to me , and a stunning dark pinstripe for the sunny diner ..a really thorough dark encompassing blue both drenched bar the beauty of wood . Now I’m earthy green and clay , as you know ..but I’m kinda thinking : as we have lived it for a long time we must have been trendy too ? ! Xx
Love your use of blue JP, all the blues in the different rooms and ceilings look so beautiful...and just right! My love is blue and white china which I manage to incorporate in most rooms of my home... except my bedroom which is pink!! Enjoy your time in Key West. Xx
Gorgeous JP, love your drawing room especially the little horse. Xxx
Thank you Jane. Happy Easter.

Fantastic post. I loved every single shade and loved the powdery blue. And blue looks good with both silver and gold hardware and fittings.
Thank you so much. You’re right about the silver and gold. So looking forward to showing you the new house this weekend.
Super excited and congratulations!
Well it’s nice enough and so great being near grandchildren but I miss my cottage and my garden. X

Love Railings. I’m getting the feeling you’re not overly keen on your new house Penny? X
The dark blue ceiling was genius. And brave! One of my absolute favourites xx
Why thank you Mrs Wilson. Hope you had a good Easter.
Marvellous. Though I never sleep well in a four poster as my feet - attached to long legs as they are- are drawn to a post!
🤣 It’s so funny you say that as my husband’s legs tend to be drawn to the post! Happy Easter Mark.

I love your new colours Nic. Although Dancing Water is such a wonderful name for a blue.
I’m a fellow blue lover too!
It’s a much underrated colour.
I love all the blues and in particular the drawing room. It looks so relaxing and stylish. Come back from holiday fully re-charged! X
Sure thing Rebecca.

Love blue and white China.
So many beautiful rooms JP, a project I’m working on at the moment is centred around Blue, combined with some neutral tones 💙
Sounds exciting Sonya.
All looks beautiful. Enjoy KW! XxM
Thank you Marion and happy Easter to you. X
