This is probably the best post I’ve ever read and will ever read, JP! I don’t think the words do it justice when I say this is my favourite film ever.

I watch it at least once a week 🤣 I don’t care if it sounds silly and I won’t bore you with why, but it holds a lot of significance and meaning to me.

Thank you so so for sharing some behind the scenes that I’ve never seen before - I’m quite literally giddy with excitement.

Love this !!! Always a popular film in our house , so much so that my elderly mother-in-law tried to smuggle the DVD out in her luggage after a Christmas visit 😂😂😂

That was cheeky! 🤣

Loved this, one of my favourite films. I also love 'Something's Gotta Give' by the amazing Nancy Mayer if like me you love The Hamptons in the US.

Bee Osborn had to sell her beautiful cottage but she now has another beautiful one that has been restored near Chipping Norton complete with thatched roof. ❤️

Oh I did not know that! Well, at least she has another now.

Take a look on her Instagram, Bee does put photos of her home there. She had a shop in Chipping Norton too but that has now closed.

This post is right up my street JP! I’m always looking up the locations of anything I watch, and so this was really the perfect Sunday morning read. But oh my goodness the cottage was just a shell?!!! Wow……. I thought building a Chelsea Flower Show garden was hard enough, but a whole house?!!!

They used a set company called Living Props Jo. The trees in the foreground, the garden, the lichen, everything was placed there to set the scene. You know more than anyone how hard that is.

Oh my goodness what a fabulous read!!! I never knew any of it...thankyou for the gossip! I never tire of this film! The simplicity of the story and romantic christmas setting is a winner in my eyes!! And don't forget the Killer's Mr Brightside and it's wonderfully anthemic qualities and of course Jude's smile across the pub. This film literally has everything you need!!! Thankyou JP xx

Ah I love that film! Love, love, love it! Now I need to watch it again. Great intel JP. The lanes here in Devon are the same. Hours of endless fun watching ‘grocks’ trying to navigate them - if you don’t need to be anywhere of course! Here we have lots of real tractors as well as the Chelsea type!

Weird that having been brought up in Surrey for a few of my childhood years (and still having a younger sister there, by the Downs in Epsom) that Godalming is the only place I’ve been of the places used for filming. Next time I visit her I’m going on a pilgrimage. My older sister, who very sadly passed just recently, lived in a picture perfect village in Kent - that could definitely have been another potential location. Great read. Xxx

The pilgrimage is a great idea! There are some stunning villages in Kent too. I used to live in West Malling, which is lovely.

Thank you for giving some background information JP I love all that stuff. Sad as I may be The Holiday along with A Christmas Carol are my absolute favourite Christmas films.

I am booked to see The Holiday at the Guildhall with a full orchestra. I hope it is good the tickets were expensive for a film I have seen so many times 😂.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Omg you are so lucky! I really wanted to see that too but can’t make the date. The tickets here very expensive I know, but I think you’ll have a magical time.
