Hey JP glad you popped along, wish you could have stayed longer! Very informative and I need some lavender for the clippers I’ve ordered. I love your gardening skills and quite excited for more. ❤️

That’s so funny! Wait till spring to buy the lavender now. Have a great evening Karen.

Lavenders and I just don’t get on! Doesn’t matter where I plant they just don’t like me, unlike my garden centre that really likes me as I keep buying them in the vain hope one will survive one of these days!!

First year ever with no lavender to prune! New plants are on order. I remember buying the trimmer on your recommendation JP a few years back! So useful for all kinds of jobs! Xxx

I bet you can’t wait to get your garden all planted up Penny.

I wish I was less crap at pruning lavender...I can't quite bring myself to do it while they look even a little ok, but I think you may have persuaded me...thank you!

It’s a struggle Mark. Nothing worse than leggy lavender though!

The chat sounds more immediate and immersive. Hope it works out, but not so much as it is a chore, demanding too much of your time.

Most definitely more immediate. The hope is that it sort of takes care of itself. It’s a place for you guys rather that doesn’t necessarily have to involve me all the time. Xx

Can’t wait to see your new office and you sitting outside in the cleared area with your glass of wine. And oh I love that flint stone wall. My Nan had a bungalow in Elma Sands, Middleton-on-sea, West Sussex and even though her places wasn’t made of flint, a lot of the cottages around there were, and it brings back lovely memories. xx

Wonderful! It’ll be a while yet before we see the new garden canopy, or my office, but it’s all in the plans.

Thanks for the tip. I'm on vacation at my parents home in Provence and I gonna buy the Bosch pack as a gift. They have bunch of Lavander and other plants in the garden (the house is built near the mountain, in a very very savage garden) and I know they have difficulties with the lavander which doesn't look well !

Sounds idyllic. Provence is known for its lavender, right? The Bosch tool will definitely make things easier for them Alexandre. The problem with lavender is that if you leave it and don’t prune it hard from the start, then it never quite recovers. Treat it mean.

Love lavender! And hydrangeas, though mine have been a very poor show this year. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the space 😃

I have tried really hard with my lavenders, but they just are a mess, I looked at them earlier today thinking they have to go! Just need something to put in their place first. I wonder if they get too much water as I planted them next to the hydrangeas! X

They hate lots of water Elaine. Full sun and very free-draining soil. If they are already leggy, then it’s too late. Rip them out. In the right place, I promise they are easy. Xx

Thank you! I have a slope that I was unsure what to do with, it will become a lavender bed, full sun not the best soil, perfect x

They will love it! Make sure you plant them completely upright facing the sky. Don’t be tempted to follow the line of the slope. So, the hole should be completely vertical, not slanted to suit the slope. Make sense? I often mound up the lower side of a plant on a slope with more soil. Water till established, then just prune after flowering as I’ve shown.
