Thanks for the inspo JP! Here’s a few extra recommendations from me for anyone needing 100% compostable undyed and unbleached dried materials:

Wheat and oats - great for harvest, Thanksgiving;

Statice, Amaranthus, Larkspur, Globe Thistle, Achillea (yarrow) - keep their colour well (darkened or faded from fresh, but still lovely;

Allium - the larger the better. I have lovely neighbours who give me theirs at the end of the season!

Nigella seed heads - beautiful, but they will pop and send their tiny black seeds flying!

Undyed Pampas Grass looks good (for those of you who have it in your front gardens 🤭), but it sheds and the remedy (spraying with hairspray) makes it non-compostable. I’ve used it outside in a Christmas garland and it held up well. Oops - I just said the C-word!

Loved that video JP! I was getting a bit lost with the pen and the wire bit, then it all became clear when I watched you do it. Clever!

Dead crap gang! 😆

I love gathering dead crap for my table settings and centre pieces, it’s so much more interesting to me than a prescribed bouquet.

Also… a little blast of late summer heat as well here in Toronto. We’re spending the day by the pool as a final send off to the season. I’m not made about it. 🏊‍♀️

Now that I am very jealous of! Although, apparently it is going to be 24 degrees C this week, so that’s not bad.

Well that was fun 🤩 love it 😊 I shall work out somewhere to use this idea. As I can almost touch my ceilings am thinking of experimenting over my low table in the sitting room. Maybe with olive branches and green berries - I’ve real and fake and have lots of hydrangeas and old man’s beard. Have the ability to put a bulb in the centre too. So less Late Summer cloud more- more Late Summer Light installation😂😂xxx shall enjoy this. You’ve inspired me xxxxx I’m defo in The Old Crap Club! 😉.
