Great article JP! Like you, we love beautiful, period homes, and hats off to you both for the loving attention you clearly give your homes. When it comes to interior design, we're both fastidious about colours, materials, textures etc.
Well, I absolutely loved reading this installment, JP! As always, delightful imagery peppered with humour. I cracked up on reading the sentiment on the original house viewing where it felt like "Come on in, don't take your shoes off, you won't be here long!"😂 Then positively howled at the downstairs loo bit, generously giving you a twofer, wipe your bum and change the fuse at the same time! Basically a jingle- jangle frenzied whipped cream of a read!😂😂😂 Honestly, what a treat for a Sunday morning. If this doesn't get you into the Saturday Telegraph or something soon, I'll eat my wreath! Meanwhile, I must must harness less Eeyore more Pollyanna in my life! Happy Sunday and thank you for making my morning!
Beautiful house, loved the floorboards and the banister is unique. I always find posts where you talk about your vision as it makes me start to think differently.
Yes, but dreaming of when the renovations are complete is all well and good but will you be able to stop yourself getting twitchy to do it again when they do?!
Honeyed words of a home love affair, from a master of description. How your words touch my heart, soul and funny bone. So grateful to be let into a part of your World by such tales.
Love reading your stories of your home journeys, from your brilliant descriptions I would have bought this house too! Looking forward to reading the next one in this series.xx
I love reliving your journey through your descriptions! I also learned a new word - at nearly 67! Panglossian had me reaching for Mr Google! What a gorgeous word!! ❤️
Oh it’s one of my faves and I only use it in the best sentences! It derives from Pangloss, a super optimistic character in Candide, which I’m sure you now know! 🤣💝
Fabulous read as always JP, you always manage to tell such an incredible story with the beautifully descriptive words you choose, I literally feel like I’m in your fabulous home as I’m reading!
Can’t wait to see what you in store for next week too ❤️
Sonya that comment has made my day. Thank you. Ooh next week is a bit of fun! I didn’t want to do the usual aff link thing, so I’m giving some simple ideas for being more creative with Valentines Day instead of buying more stuff.
So enjoying this series ..the original front door seals the deal , I’ve been bitten by the Victorian viper on this one . It’s the utter love for the indulgence of old isn’t it ? Goodness what a labour of love ..and slight madness ; but pride as the Final Cut In occurs X love all the original pics it gives a sense of the mountains you both clambered over ...happy Sunday darling X

Thank you Mike. In many ways it’s very similar to garden design in my opinion, an outdoor room with endless possibilities.

It’s been an amazing house to look after and bring back to life.

🤣 Ah, the ultimate question! We’ll have to wait and see!
My kitchen also was euthanized. 😂
Had to be put out of their misery Mary! 🤣💝
Really did. Clean death.

It’ll be not next weekend, but the weekend after Elaine. There’s a little segue next weekend. There will be a video this Tues/weds though.

I do now! I’ve not read much Voltaire beyond his ideas on civil liberties. I love still being able to learn new words! X
