Morning JP! I just love looking at other peoples homes. Gives you ideas and satisfies the nosey Parker in you. It also makes me think how much housework you’d have to do to keep it pristine. All beautiful, hard to choose. No! I’ll stick with my little house - unless of course I win the lottery. 🤪❤️

I’d always opt for a smaller home now, far less cleaning!

An area of the country I know very little, so thank you for the window in JP' 'the perfect location for someone who can’t quite decide' has so often been my home, and I have to say there are worse places to be

Couldn’t agree more Mark, and actually that’s where we’ve ended up just outside Chichester. I do like a bit of both. X

Oh so far away in form from where I live but also reminds me of the filth in cities. I loved all the houses you picked!

Thank you so much. One of the things I remember the most about the area was the abundance of lichen on the trees, a sure sign of clean air.

Good tip! It must also look so pretty under the trees.

There’s nothing like a good nosey at properties and these are stunners in their own way. Lovely unique homes. Fab post! Xxx

Hi JP, How wonderful to re-live my past, through your charming memories of the splendid Surrey Hills. Post divorce, in the late 80/90’s, I worked for a Guildford Estate Agent and lived/visited many of the areas you mentioned - Gomshall, Shere, Bramley, Holmbury, Godalming - and enjoyed weekend walking near The Holiday cottage. Shere joy! Still my fave part of UK - long ago but my passion for houses and interiors remains now I live in ‘posh’ Cheshire! Vx

I’m sure if we went south east 40 miles there’s another set of mouth watering pads in the Kent downs . Isn’t it the perfect place to live those green patches just outside London Town . You were incredibly fortunate to own and renovate one JP bloody marvellous. It’s in your bones the property interest. Great article stunning homes . Too rich for my purse 👛

Fortunate indeed, although you know it took many houses to get there. Thank you Nic. It’s a great part of the world and having green space in your life wherever you are is such a blessing. Xxx

That is very true . Green space or fab beaches , incredibly lucky when you stop and comprehend how some folks lives have panned out . We have been very deserved though because we’ve worked so very hard Xx

What’s a “spoon lens?” All are stunning, what a testament to you & Mr C for your handy work in the New England fixer upper that it’s still pretty much the same! I love #3, might be my fave of all of them. Merci beaucoup for putting together this lovely tour, JP!

I'm sorry, these are all RIDICULOUSLY picturesque, and while I know it is a little impractical, I would like to buy all of them. All I need now is roughly £30 million - which is a mere trifle, for someone as momentarily deranged as I am after looking at these photos.

My new goal for the end of the year is to acquire 670,000 new paid subscribers to my newsletter, which should just about cover it.
