As we enter this festive time, I don’t know about you, but I seem to get busier and busier! However, somehow I still want to find the time to fill the house with the aromas and colours of the season. Other than the tree and our usual decorations collected over the years, I like to fill our house with live greens, foraged from wherever I can find them (usually the local forest). Just make sure you remember to bring your secateurs and a bag, only take what you need and also make sure it’s not private land!
Last year I created my very first Christmas swag from foraged finds. I was running out of time to make my own wreath and, quite frankly I was in a bit of panic about the whole festive season. We had guests arriving from America, great friends of ours, and I just wanted everything to be perfect. The time had just disappeared. It seems to be happening again this year. I actually can’t quite believe we’re nearly half way through December already!
Swags are much easier to make, but in my opinion, often have greater wow factor than a wreath does. People loved last year’s and wanted to find out how to make it and where I bought the bells from. I did a video about it, but never actually did a blog post. I’m not one for waste and the bells are truly beautiful, so with my recycling halo in full glow, I’m using them again. But, this time I’ve changed the foliage up a little and used different ribbon. Here’s the low down.
