Join the HOME & HORT Chat Forum
A private space to share our love of interiors, gardens & life.
Join me today at 5pm BST on our own private Chat Forum and say hi!
Hey there everyone on this perfect late summer day here in the UK (I know it’s autumn from Sunday onwards, but I’m holding out till then. I’ve even got my shorts on!). There’s no Midweek Musings this week because today I’m launching our paid member Chat Forum. The ability for each of us to join in on our private chat has actually been there for a while, but I want to give it a good kick up the bum and create a lively forum where we can discuss all the things we love in the knowledge that we are amongst friends because only paid members can see it.
Chat is essentially a conversation space, kind of like a WhatsApp group or live hangout. It’s a place where you can get your questions answered, not just by me, but by each other. There is so much knowledge about homes and gardens amongst us all, why not share it? Perhaps you’re stuck on choosing a colour for your bedroom wall? You can post some photos (they do not need to be good quality), or a short video and tell us what your problem is. We can then give our opinions and suggestions. Or, maybe you have something wrong with your Delphiniums and want to know what to do? Post it in chat and let your HOME & HORT friends help you.
I want this to be a space for you. It’s a place where you can make friends with likeminded people and feel safe. I’d really like to widen the topics too as we are all so much more than just interior and horticulture lovers. I might have found a fabulous airbnb to stay in, or you’ve just had the best apple pie you’ve ever eaten. Anything goes as long as it’s clean, kind and respectful - if it’s funny - even better!
I will post questions, dilemmas, topical issues, or interesting things that I’m doing at least once a week and you guys can jump in whenever you want. Every new topic, or post, is called a Thread. I can start one, but so can you, so don’t be shy and if you have a burning question, or just fancy sharing a pic of your new bathroom, then just start a thread and show us.
What I’m hoping is that you enjoy using the space to be with each other and have great conversations. I’ve seen it work so well with a few of the Substacks that I subscribe to, notably
The Gardening Mind and Things Worth Knowing. There’s something interesting to get involved with on both of their chats almost every day.As far as I know, there isn’t a great chat forum on here yet that encompasses interior design, DIY, crafts, foraging, gardening and a general love of life all in one. So, together, let’s make this the place to be! You’re a lively lot in the comments each week, so I know you like to talk as much as I do. Come and join us.
How to get started
Get the Substack app by clicking this link or the button below. New chat threads won’t be sent via email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. You can also access chat on the web.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
So excited about this! See you over in the chat!
Please do leave a heart ♥️, a restack (that’s the recycle symbol below) and/or a comment. It’s so easy to do and makes a huge difference. Thank you so much! Xx
I get wedged further and further into Substack, all for you, JP! You always cheer and inspire ❤️
