I’m a Substack Bestseller!
…and although I find it cringe-worthy beyond description to big myself up, I feel compelled to mark the occasion.
On the 7th of April, whilst on holiday and before I revealed our latest and hopefully last house move, I became a Bestseller on Substack for my newsletter HOME & HORT. I’m now in the top 20 on the Design leaderboard. To say I’m overwhelmed and rather astonished is a tad more than an understatement. I have terrible imposter syndrome you see, being amongst such esteemed authors and journalists. Yet, somehow, deep within my crazy, perhaps slightly deluded mind, there is something that compels me to continue and strive to be the best I can be. I love writing. I always have. Can’t help it. Whatchagonnado?
I started my blog back in 2019 on jpslifeandloves.com, won awards for it and eventually, moved it with some trepidation to Substack in August last year.
I never thought in my wildest dreams that eight months later I would be celebrating being awarded a Bestseller badge. I finally feel I have the right to call myself a writer. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed, either paid or free. I am eternally grateful for your support, generosity and kindness. I also want to give a huge sloppy kiss to the community of writers on here who have been so supportive and welcoming. You made me feel like I belong.
I can’t thank you all enough,
What an inspiration JP, congratulations my friend! You deserve all of this and more. Now hurry up and write a book please! X
