Welcome to the brand new name for my weekly newsletter: HOME & HORT by JP Clark. I do hope you like it! I wanted to let you all know in advance of the Instagram announcement tomorrow. You’ll always hear everything here first!
From today onwards the name J.P’s Life and Loves will only be on my Instagram page, pinterest and my old website. I started this wonderful Substack journey nearly six months ago. However, I chose the worst time possible to start it as I was right in the middle of the busy summer season at our holiday home - The Harbour Deckhouse. I do everything from clean the loos to check-in and marketing as I take on my alter-ego Gladys the Chambermaid. So, I was insanely busy back then.
At the time, I used my usual JP’s Life and Loves name because it was easy. The apostrophe in JP’s has always been most troublesome since I launched it five years ago. It’s time my newsletter had its own brand name. It deserves it. I want to make it stand out as the place to be for interior and garden inspiration as well as a place to join in on all the fun and frolics we have in store for 2024. I also want to make it much easier to remember and for it to describe what I do in three words. HOME & HORT does exactly what it says on the tin!
So - How is it going to work?
If you are already a paid subscriber then everything will continue as normal. Although, there’s a lot of new exciting stuff coming up this year. If you are currently a free subscriber then you will receive at least one free newsletter a month and access to some of the archive and a few audio recordings.
But what if you already follow me on Instagram? Why subscribe to my newsletter? Well, here is where all my writing is, my advice, tips and funny anecdotes. It’s also much more intimate. As well as weekly newsletters, I offer audio versions of them too, read by me, so that you can listen while you’re cooking supper.
You’ll have full access to my archive, which isn’t enormous at the moment, but is gradually filling up and will soon be full to brimming. I’ll also be gradually adding my archive from my website too.
Here we can chat about interiors and gardens to our hearts content in our very own chat forum. I might start the conversation, but you can also chat amongst yourselves and make new friends.
In December 2023 I also started a once a month edit of all the things I have loved in that month, imaginatively entitled: ‘JP Loves’. There will be gift ideas, hot interior and garden trends, places to visit and things to do.
I’d like to start that book and let you read it, a chapter at a time. It’s something I’m working on and you’ll be the first to know. I’m hoping to have guest appearances from other bloggers and writers, possibly even do a podcast.
I’m hoping to pop on more in 2024 and tell you the funny thing that happened to me that day and we can all have a good old giggle. Full house and garden tours will becoming up in 2024 too! In essence, my newsletter is a platform that encompasses everything that I am and everything I do, sharing my life, my home and my garden, my ups and downs, my successes and disasters with all of you. We’re all on a journey of interior and gardening discovery, so why not do it together?
I hope I can inspire as well as make you think and make you laugh. More than anything, I wish for all of us to find increased happiness in our homes and gardens and a deeper understanding of how our surroundings affect our lives.
Phew! Well done for getting to the end! You’ve gotta hit that subscribe/upgrade button now surely?
Love the new name JP!
