Well hello friendly faces and a very warm welcome to all new subscribers this week. You have joined the happiest bunch of lovely people who live for joy.

I had a different post prepared for today, which I’ll post in the next few days instead, I just felt with everything going on in the world we needed some light, but exquisite relief.

I’m currently away in my home from home Key West. You know I love it. Weatherboard for days and cocktails aplenty. The sun is shining just as it has been back in England. Typical that the sun comes out when I leave the country. The coast is clear, quick, turn on the sunshine!

We had one day of solid rain here, but since then it’s been a balmy 29 degrees. Anyway, that got me thinking about lazy summer days in the garden, so I thought I’d bring forward this little round up of gorgeous things I’ve scouted for on the internet that could grace your sun deck, balcony, or lawn this summer.

I wanted to say that there’s nothing at all wrong with faux rattan, it’s just that the internet is awash with it, so wanted to offer something new.

One thing I would say when buying outdoor furniture is to make sure you read the care instructions. So many of the soft furnishings aren’t even waterproof, which I find ridiculous. If it says: “Do Not Get Wet”, then please don’t buy it.

Generally, it’s advisable to invest in good outdoor covers that can be quickly slung over everything, or get a good, sturdy garden box to store the cushions. The only furniture I’ve found so far that you can leave out all year is from Armadillo Sun. It’s wonderful, but pricey. The link above takes you to the beanbag lounge chairs that we have and I can confirm that after years of use they are still perfect.

Everything else, needs to be brought inside or covered when it rains. But if you find something else that has year-round protection then let me know.

Btw - this post has masses of photos. It’s not a long read. But, you may need to look at it in your web browser or the app, or click on ‘read in full’.

Habitat Mylar 4 Seater Metal Garden Sofa Set - Green - Argos - £400

By Dakota Wooden Garden Corner Sofa Set with Cream Parasol - Red Cushions - Laura James - £929.99. This is such a bargain as it includes the parasol as well. Great to see some vibrant colour too.

Habitat Hania 4 Seater Wooden Garden Sofa Set - Natural - Argos - £700

Eaden Rope Conversation Set - Natural - Laura James - £549.

Habitat Koral 5 Seater Wooden Garden Sofa Set - Light Wood - £950 This looks exceptional for the price.

Habitat 60 Lucinda Metal Garden Bench & Chair - Yellow - Argos - £185.

Masboro wooden Garden lounge Set - WayFair - £499.

Halston Garden Sofa Set - Laura James - £499.

Green Boucle Outdoor set - Next - £1,899. On the high end, but very luxurious and comfortable boucle fabric. The table raises up to create a dining table too.

Vichy Lounge Set - Cox & Cox - £1,795. I’m going to defend Cox & Cox a little bit, because I’ve been a lover of their beautiful things for some time. I had a very similar outdoor lounge set to this in our last house from them and it was quite exceptional. It was supremely comfortable and easy to clean. I’d definitely shop with them again. It’s pricey, but you can get 20% off if you sign up.
